Well, duh! and isn't it about time?
This news item caught my attention because one of the many and first things NextStage used it's Evolution Technology for was applications of social science to warcraft concerns. For example, one of our whitepapers is entitled "Evaluation of Individuals as Cognitive Systems (Situational Awareness and Cognitive Readiness)".
It might not be apparent when you read the paper's abstract and evaluating individuals as cognitive systems (situational awareness and cognitive readiness) are important to marketing -- the paper deals with who to prime someone to become aware of your product/service/brand when they're most able to favorably respond to it. IE, knowing when you're market will be most receptive to your offer.
Hmm...knowing when you're market will be most receptive to your offer?
That's probably useful, don't you think?
NextStage has many whitepapers on these kinds of topics; Leadership Self-Development Training, Decision Support Systems, Evolution Technology as an Adjunct to Homeland Defense and Security, Transfer of Domain Knowledge by Replicating Cognitive Styles, etc. (don't go looking for them on our website, we're rebranding them. And more on that in future posts).
The fact that the US Military is now deciding it's time to do something NextStage was demonstrating back in 2001 is...umm...amusing to us here in the NextStage offices. Then again, we may be unique in recognizing General Carl von Clausewitz's statement "Selling is WAR by other means."
For those with a curiosity in such matters, here are some other things NextStage was demonstrating back in 2001-2002 (all are in the public record, by the way, just ask the US Army if you don't believe us). I'll provide the marketing equivalents where they exist and starting with some of the titles I offered above. The marketing translations are in italics:- Decision Support Systems - "Making consumers decide on your offering rather than a competitor's offering"
- Combating Terrorism via predicting future behavior - "Knowing how and when your customer will act"
- Combating Terrorism via detection and warning of terrorist activities - "Knowing how and when your competitors will act"
- Combating Terrorism via intrusion detection using cognitive pattern recognition - "Security systems that recognize people by their unique thought processes"
- Combating Terrorism via Terrorist Behavior and Actions Predictions Technology - "Designing marketing material that can pick members of your target audience out of a crowd and signal them so uniquely that they respond immediately"
- Information Integration Center (adding Memetic, Phylo-Linguistic and Behavioral information to existing other data) - (anything I've written on NextStage's Rich Personae
