I got a comment on my Nike Air Native N7 - A Truly Native American Shoe post. I'm sharing my response here for two reasons; 1) I have no idea if the individual who posted will go back looking for my response (didn't leave an email address) and 2) I was truly impressed by Nike's handling of the situation. Howdy and thanks for reading my blog. I did some looking on the Nike site, specifically searching for "Air Native N7" and got "SORRY, WE FOUND NO PRODUCT MATCHES FOR YOUR SEARCH."
I next called their 800-806-6453 (I went with option "0").
I was told there is a program that involves Native Americans and is called "Wellness Center". You have to go to your tribal council and let them know of your interest. Nike has set up agreements with several Native American groups and through this process you can get these shoes.
I have to say I was pleased with Nike's Customer Service Department's handling of this when I called - very gracious, very helpful, very courteous and very impressive.
