Almost eleven months ago we lost our little boy, Fenris, our dog. He was fourteen, had an incredibly good life by anybody's standards and passed in our arms during the night.
Today we learned that Merlin, our cat, also needs to be on his way. I looked at him yesterday and asked if he was getting ready to go see his brother. We got them on the same day so many years ago. They taught us so much.
We'll probably be back from the vet's by the time you read this.
I'm so tired. So incredibly tired.

that sucks.
I dread the day that my girls (2 dogs) go away.
My sympathies

My sympathies Joseph. Only those who had dogs or cats for so many years can understand how important they are in our lives.

Thank you both, Clint and Stephane. Susan and I appreciate your thoughts. Merlin also went peacefully, the two of us holding and petting him, and cooing to him as we always did when we held him. May the same be true for you and yours, yes?

I am so sorry for your loss. I hope the happy memories of all the time you shared together will get you through this sorrow and sadness.
I'm sure both your boys knew how much they were loved and appreciated.

Thanks, Maria. Your thoughts and words are truly appreciated.
Susan and I are remembering the laughter as it was very long and it's helping us get through the tears. - Joseph

Joe and Sue, Just read about Merlin. We are so sorry. In life true good friends are hard to come by, until a pet lets you into their lives. Hope to see you soon.
