NextStage: Predictive Intelligence, Persuasion Engineering, Interactive Analytics and Behavioral Metrics I heard on NPR (Presidential Race Focuses on Wyoming Caucuses)this morning that the Democratic Party in the US is in for some challenges. This time, the close race between Senators Obama and Clinton is causing them to work hard to win states that traditionally had little to offer delegate wise. For example, Wyoming. It has twelve democratic delegates. Both senators are spending lots of time campaigning there.

This campaign cycle NextStage is monitoring the race quite differently than we did in the past. One thing we have noticed that hasn't changed is that the Democrats are once again gearing themselves up to lose. I'm not sure why, really, and it always seems that the Republicans are much better at strategy. I think all they do is let the Democrats blow themselves out. It happened in 2000 and 2004 and seems to be what's happening this time, too.

The democrats need to unite for several reasons. One that I haven't heard anyone talk about is financial. The amount of money the Clinton and Obama campaigns are spending to win states that they wouldn't consider otherwise is draining their coffers. When it does come down to one democrat and one republican? Their funds depleted on primaries, the democrats become easy targets for a republican marketing blitz.

Just my opinion.
