I mentioned my interview with MarketingSherpa in "Exclusive Data: How to Design Your Newsletters - 5 New Action Charts". The challenge with a lot of what NextStage does is that there's lots of data and we can spread it around quite a bit. For example, the whole results and take-aways sets are in the for pay paper, Designing an Email Newsletter for Maximum ROI. Some of those results are also shared in Email Newsletters, Anyone? on AllBusiness.com. The major take-aways will also be listed in NextStage Irregular, something I'm suppose to be writing up today and will get to once I finish reading a journal that's caught my attention.
The AllBusiness.com article does mention a few things not included in the MarketingSherpa piece, specifically why knowing that your subscribers are opening your newsletter on a pda is so powerful (you're putting power right into their hands) and how long subscribers will give a newsletter before they ignore it. They may not unsubscribe but they will ignore and that can be worse based on your newsletter goals.
