That's not quite correct. Lots of funny things have been happening on the way to getting the first issue out. Case in point, I was asked by MarketingSherpa to delay release of the first issue so that they could have an exclusive on the results. That's what the title to this post is about. You can read the Exclusive Data: How to Design Your Newsletters - 5 New Action Charts MarketingSherpa article and I hope the information provided helps you.
That interview, the first issue of The NextStage Irregular and a research paper on our findings were all suppose to be coming out tomorrow, Friday, 1 Feb 08. There's a link on NextStage's homepage that was suppose to allow you to purchase the paper (it'll cost US$375, if you're interested). Right now it's just to let us know you're interested
And this is why the folks who work with me are both happy and upset that I'm on sabbatical right now.
The research that went into that article, the research paper and the newsletter was something I was doing off and on on my own for several years and to which we put definite time, money and resources during the past two or so years. The agreement I have with NextStage is that they get first dibs on any research I do, I get to pester them for resources from time to time.Well, this time the math was done and I was reviewing the paper and zing, right there on page 9 and while I was making sure the figures accurately depicted what we learned, I saw two...no, three...other results that manifest themselves when you take a moment to recognize what you're looking at.
Authority and Influence.
Seems the data also reveals links between information portal and authority and information portal and influence. I'll save the third thing until I ask some people to check some things for me.
So, if you're looking for the research paper, be patient. It'll be worth it, me thinks. Especially if you are in the email newsletter business.
Please contact NextStage for information regarding presentations and trainings on this and other topics.
