
Holidays are mortal creations. Originally created by mortals to honor or appease the unknown and unapproachable then subsumed by cultures and religions, now overridden by nationalism and consumerism.
Can you think of Christmas without thinking of buying gifts for people? My parents would never have thought of buying each other cars for Christmas. "I'd like to give you a gift that will keep billing you somewhere between US$200-700/month -- not including maintenance, taxes, etc. -- for the next three to five years." Talk about the gift that keeps on giving.
