I know it's been a while, and here we are in part 9 of the Successful Search Engine Writing arc. It might not seem so to readers of this blog and to me, things are getting exciting. The equation is taking form and (naturally) how searchers search -- their psychomechanics, if you will -- is playing an obvious part. Is it all there is? No, of course not. Still, it is a recognizable part.
I took a bread from looking for entries in the Veritas blog arc and searched for "wom viral marketing predictability" in the hopes of finding the 9 Oct '07 WOM, Viral Marketing, Predictability and "Never Give Up! Never Surrender!" entry.
This post had the #1 and #2 spot out of 32,900 entries. I'm told that search engines change their ranking system every once in a while. This is done so that no one can scam the system. The solution I'm working on doesn't really care about how a search engine alters its methodology for assigning listing prominence, it's much more concerned with how someone will search for something.
