Truth in advertising dept: This arc is based on one of my many explorations. I'm not an SEO/SEM/Search engine expert nor do I play one on TV. I mentioned in a previous post, Keywords, Search Engines, SEM, SEO, Learning and Placement while Giggling at Google, "Readers from the SEO and SEM world will probably ask, Why is he doing this? He's reinventing the wheel.
"Maybe yes, maybe no. Yes; It's in my nature, when learning something, to become a tabula rasa. My book, Reading Virtual Minds, grew from my thesis, How We Learn to Learn and much of that work dealt with efficient ways to tabula-rasize people so they could learn new skills optimally.
"No; by starting with first principles I will often discover different methods for achieving the same goals."
What also needs to be added to this mix is that my take on things is often sooooooooooooo completely different and comes from such a diffffffffffffferentttttttttt place than most people that I'll discover things no one else would.
For example, when I first showed my professors the outline for NextStage's Evolution Technology, the response was amazement followed by "This is so obvious only you could have come up with it."
Anyway, this entry in the arc deals with another post from 9 Oct 07, Is the Verizon LG VX1000 Voyager the iPhone Killer?.
This time out I wrote about competition in the market, not the VX1000 or iPhone specifically. My post placed #1 out of 38,900 in a web search. My search term was "lg vx1000 iphone".
Does the complexity of the query play a role in where an entry appears in the listing? Maybe yes, maybe no. The complexity of the query definitely indicates how the searcher conceptualizes what they're searching for.
Hmm... the equation grows...
