The post itself is good, the comments are excellent because they provide so many different points of view and so many ideas about staying in contact. Follow the link to Sean Bonner's Preferred Means of Contact post, as well. I found his layout and format very useful.
How do I prefer to be contacted? The phone. Why? Because in today's world people tend to use the phone for two reasons; friendly conversation (always welcome. There's not enough friendly conversation going around any more, me thinks) and because business phone calls indicate the caller has self-selected that the topic of conversation is important to them and they'd like it to be important to you.
I've been telling people for years that I don't get to emails with any regularity. In fact, the email that led to this post was sent 16 Jul 07.
By my usual standards, I'm ahead of the game.
