I've never hid this fact. I've mentioned it often in presentations and writings. One of the reasons our models are so accurate is because of the accuracy of the base models we use -- models that have proven themselves numerous times in the past 100 or so years. Nor have I hid the fact that one of our top researchers, my wife, Susan, has a very strong background in immunoassay development, microbiology, virology, ... I tell people, she's the smart one, not me.
Still, it's hard to get people to accept that the models in one discipline are valid in others. This is why I'm sharing something one of my correspondents, Sweetness, sent me, Game glitch sheds light on virus spread. Here virologists are recognizing that a software glitch was demonstrating behaviors similar to the spread of a biologic virus and how people respond to them. Fascinating stuff.
