People demonstrate who they are in what they do and how they do it. Brother Stephane's demonstration of himself on his blog (and in person) is very refreshing. I also think he brings a perspective to what he does that goes beyond what I've witnessed elsewhere.
In any case, I left a comment on his The NextStage of web analytics blog post and summarize it here, along with some amplifications.
Stephane mentions doing much of what he does online for recognition. Good for him, great for others, and an excellent example of altruism to increase value within a group. I don't know if Stephane had this in mind when he made his WASP tool available to others, only that increasing his value in the web analytics community is an outcome. Good work and nicely done.Stephane also mentions that I remind him of Sean Connery's "Professor Henry Jones, Sr." character in the Indiana Jones movies. I've often thought Sean Connery has one of the most delicious voices I've ever heard. I fantasize about being his children and grandchildren, hearing that voice reading fairy tales and fables to me at bedtime and am jealous.
The last topic in Stephane's post echoes back to my Stephane Hamel on Business Design Intelligence post and deals with collaborating on a presentation or some such regarding the integration of NextStage technology with web analytics. I've invited Stephane to continue this discussion because the idea intrigues me. NextStage has no interest in doing web analytics and more and more clients are using our tools in lieu of traditional web analytics to make business intelligence and design decisions. If nothing else it'll give Stephane and me something to write up for online publications such as IMedia and AllBusiness.com.
Please contact NextStage for information regarding presentations and trainings on this and other topics.
