We're not considering the obvious changes to any site. Political sites change every day as things happen in the world. We're not really interested in the candidates' responses to other candidates, political situations or world events. What this and other columns in this series will focus on is how the designs of these websites influence how visitors to the websites think. In other words, how the politicians want you to think when you're thinking about them.
NextStage Evolution does not endorse any campaign or candidate. Our interest is purely in how campaigns and candidates communicate to different populations.
We left off recognizing different people think differently. Surprise!
What we've learned is that different parts of the country make decisions in different ways. Different age groups decide things in different ways and you'll be shocked to learn that men and women make decisions in different ways. There are 51 basic yet different ways that Americans make decisions as I write this. Tomorrow there could be more or less because the way people make decisions is greatly influenced by what's going on in their lives and what they're making decisions about. NextStage recognizes some 72 basic decision strategies for most business purposes.
So how do the majority of Americans think as I write this?
Right now most Americans think in what NextStage recognizes as a V19 style. People familiar with Myers-Briggs will see similarities between NextStage's V19 and the Myers-Briggs ESFJ types This is closely followed by what NextStage recognizes as A11 (similar to INTP Myers-Briggs types) and V3 (a mix of Myers-Briggs INFJ, ESTJ and ESFJ personality types).
Put these three thinking and decision making styles together and you have just over a quarter of the US population. What's most interesting is that it's very easy to influence these three decision styles with one type of message. All three decision styles share a strong belief that the past hasn't been too good.
