Part 1 started this arc by describing how my work was entering my life by...um...distracting me.
One of the things we documented in our preliminary study and I noticed in myself is something we're calling "Lapse of consciousness". Many people have heard the expression "lapse of memory". You are merrily going about your day and simply forgot to do something. Doesn't mean much of anything in and of itself most times -- sometimes a cigar is just a cigar -- and some times it points at something much deeper.
Lapses of consciousness are much the same thing. You're merrily going about your day and lose track of what's going on, what you're doing, and this has nothing to do with early onset dementia.
It's how these lapses of consciousness manifest themselves that fascinates me. The patterns I observed in myself were very similar to those we discovered when talking with others as part of the research.
