My friend KBar recently sent me Wolfram Offers Prize For (2,3) Turing Machine and I admit I read it with interest. I've followed Stephen Wolfram's career from afar for years and find him fascinating. I don't know the man personally so I have no opinion about him as an individual. I have studied his work and find it refreshing more often than not.This article was an interesting read for me because it's really a series of posts by people expressing their opinions about Dr. Wolfram. Close to the bottom there's some comments about his work. I agree with many of the statements made about his "A New Kind of Science" book and have written enough myself to know that I'm often not the best person to express and explain what is utterly and completely obvious to me, hence I'll forgive myself by giving Dr. Wolfram some room.
And besides, his Mathematica is one of the best tools around for what I do, so my opinion is going to be biased anyway and I know it.
Still, I found this finding of KBar an interesting read and am passing it on to you.
