Part 1 in this arc described the story of FG, one of Sweetness' research subjects. Part 2 dealt with a qualified candidate dealing with a company that had some incredible expectations. Here we learn about misleading job postings.
"An incident similar what I described in Part 2 occurred to WS. The company again wanted someone with a Biotech/Marketing background, this time with antibody experience. WS thought great, they’d spent 10 years working with antibodies. After talking with the recruiter, the position was really 75% sales, 25% other. Nowhere in the job description did it say anything about doing, needing or being a sales person. WS said that no sales people he knew of did any of the things listed on the job requirements. The recruiter agreed, yet said that that was what the company wanted.
"Good luck to the recruiters in both instances."
Again, not sure how to comment on these stories. I accept them as true. I remember when I was job hunting and everything I'm reading from Sweetness validates my experiences and the experiences of those I've known over time.
It would help me considerably if readers would share experiences that go against Sweetness' research, if for no other reason than to read a counterpoint. Thanks.
