I keep on reading good content in Theresa Quintanilla's QViews, so let's go back there for this installment of interesting readings.
First up (and from way back in Nov '06) is Starbucks Chain of Cheer. This caught my interest because it's a precursor to another commercial I've seen recently. (Poor branding alert) Some company will donate a portion of their profits every time you go to a website and click on some link. Lest you think I don't do my due diligence, I did do a search on what I and some others in the office could remember of the ad. No luck on pulling things up. Pity because it's so a good idea. Like Ms. Quintanilla's post, the company will benefit from others altruism...if you can remember which company and product it is.
Next is Choosy Scion leaves Network TV, about Toyota Scion marketing efforts. This caught my eye because it's a beautiful example of age-based marketing.
Last up in this series is Attract Attention with News Feed. This post attracted my attention because NextStage has done a great deal of research on how the mind-eye-brain system decides which information to pay attention to. You can read some of our findings in Shared Traits of Great Web Design and Tips for Your Next Website Redesign (Page 2 of 2).
Someday I'm going to ask Ms. Quintanilla to teach me how to write short, terse and informative blog posts.
I'll be speaking at the San Francisco April '07 Emetrics Summit on Quantifying and Optimizing the Human Side of Online Marketing on May 7, 2007. Come on by and say hello.
