"BTW, I've really been enjoying your articles lately - they are way more insightful than most marketing-type articles. You should be teaching this stuff at a university!"
Many thanks for the kind words. Hmm...does this mean you didn't enjoy my articles before? Please let me know if there's some topic you'd like me to cover. NextStage's research is fairly broad and expansive and as IMedia's EIC and CCO Brad Berens has often asked me before, "What other fascinating data is NextStage sitting on that you haven't told me about?"
This article grew out of just that kind of conversation, as did the article a ways' back in Gender Marketing Web Design Differences.
In case you want the bibliography for the 1-3 second piece, you can find it at "Websites: You've Only Got 3 Seconds" now on IMediaConnection.
As for teaching this stuff at a university...funny you should mention that. I received an email from one of the professors at Purdue to let me know that they use our material in their courses. Very flattering. I've also been invited to one of our local universities, UMass Lowell next week to sit in on some courses and talk with the students. Should be interesting.
Also and FYI, there's both free and for pay articles on this and other topics on NextStage's Research Papers page.
Again, thanks for writing and do let me know if there's something you'd like me to cover in a future column or blog post.
Please contact NextStage for information regarding presentations and trainings on this and other topics.
