This series of readings began with Catching up on my readings (18 Mar 07). This time out I'll be suggesting posts from Ed Moyle (yes, I enjoy his blog) and Lee Odden.
This time out there are two entries of interest from Ed Moyle's Security Curve Weblog. The first I'll suggest is GIANT ANTS! (and security emergence). In many ways, Ed's postings remind me of my own (that'll either bring him readers or drive them away, I'm sure). He pulls from many disparate sources to make his point and getting his point is always worth the trip. This time out he likens hold sci-fi movies to technology and security concerns. As usual, a good read.
Another from Ed Moyle is Voting Security: Back to the Greeks. There's a lot for me to love in this post. Ed confesses to being a luddite (so am I), driving a stick (so do I), he knows history and makes use of it to make his point (I can learn from him). He even references Solomon's "nothing new under the sun", a favorite theme of mine.
Ed makes a case for improving election systems and I found it a thought provoking read.
The last post this time out is Lee Odden's PRWeb Podcast Rocks! from his Online Marketing Blog. I met Mr. Odden several years back in Chicago and enjoyed dinner with him (no idea if he remembers me). As I wrote above about blogs I regularly monitor, Lee Odden's is one.
Here Mr. Odden writes about PRWeb, something NextStage made use of when we were analyzing US Presidential campaign sites back in '04. PRWeb got the word out about us, no question about that, and I admit they slipped off my radar as NextStage opened it's Mississauga, Ontario offices (lots of work involved in company growth).
Lee Odden's post does an excellent job of getting the word out about PRWeb, sharing new services PRWeb has available and providing a case study for their success, so thanks for bringing something back into consciousness. Companies with limited budgets who need some good PR should read Lee Odden's post and determine if PRWeb's services are right for them.
Still catching up on my readings.
Please contact NextStage for information regarding presentations and trainings on this and other topics.
I'll be speaking at the San Francisco April '07 Emetrics Summit on Quantifying and Optimizing the Human Side of Online Marketing on May 7, 2007. Come on by and say hello.
