Searching, Searching Everywhere and Not a Link to Click, part 6
NextStage: Predictive Intelligence, Persuasion Engineering, Interactive Analytics and Behavioral Metrics Welcome to part 6 of the Searching, Searching Everywhere and Not a Link to Click arc, an anecdote from Reading Virtual Minds about search engines and search engine optimization.

In part 5 we noticed a drop in interest levels in certain ISPs and wondered what the cause might be.

interest%20by%20search%20term%20and%20number%20of%20requests.jpgNow consider the top, middle and bottom charts here. The top chart shows Interest Level (red line) as a function of Search Term and Number of Requests for that term (green line). This chart begins to delve into the psychology and sociology of visitors to the site and closely matched the SEO firm's traditional analytics' results regarding which words and terms to bid highest on, etc.experience%20stacked%20relative%20intensities.jpg What ET was able to add to the mix of knowledge is shown in the middle chart, Visitor Experience by ISP, and the bottom chart, Interest Level by Search Term and Visitor Experience. Visitor Experience by ISP (the middle chart) is a real-time measure of visitor experience while visitors are on the site with Good, Bad and Indifferent visitor experience indicated by green, red and yellow bars respectively. What we glean from this chart is that visitors from specific ISPs had a more even mix of Good to Bad experience while navigating the site. This could contribute to the Interest Level by ISP chart's indication of low interest level among the same set of visitors; ie, these visitors were frustrated.interest%20by%20search%20term%20and%20experience.jpg

All of this information is interesting and it led me to explore one final thing, Interest Level by Search Term (bottom chart, blue line) and Visitor Experience (green and red bars). This chart indicates which search terms were used by visitors who tended to have the most satisfying experience, regardless of site design.
