I've posted my comments here and also on Andreas' blog. My response is posted in full on Andreas' blog. Here we pick up with item 4.
3) I didn't know someone else had come up with a similar concept (buildings, city blocks, etc). I'm glad to know someone else out there is thinking along the lines I am, even if you don't like what either of us are writing about.
4) To that end and as noted above, I'm not sure we're writing about the same things. My goal was to get advertisers and marketers to think about what's coming down the road, not how it's going to get there. The end of the article invites readers to consider portlet placement and time in portlet (branding). I also offer that existing web page methodologies will be around for a while because they are the most obtainable by the growing internet market.
5) The three propositions near the middle of the Virreal Architecture page intrigue me for what they offer and what they don't.
6) You write that the real change is one of awareness to relevance. I accept that there's a shift going on and believe you're defining awareness as "having a web presence". I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that your use of awareness correlates to people being able to find you or having knowledge of a site's existence. I'm a little lost about the relevance referent and will guess that the suggestion is that a site's content must have meaning which is specific to the needs of the visitor.
But unless people are aware of a site that site can have no relevance. Likewise, relevance is determined by the specific needs of the individuals aware of it. This gets into the concept of sites as entertainment, informational, personal, etc. as well as business and commerce specific. There are sites which are relevant to very few people even though a large audience may be aware of them (this goes to Price's Invisible College concept), so I'm not sure I agree with your statements here. I like what I think you're driving at and would love to continue this discussion, if you're willing.
