A regular reader of my IMedia Columns and this blog emailed me some questions about how people are using music on the web. Specifically, were there "...any usability studies on the use of music these days? Do people hate autoloads? Are they ok with clicking an mp3?"These are great questions. I pointed this reader to the start of one of my blog arcs, Social Networks, Chat Rooms, Lycos and YouTube, which contained some charts on how people's reasons for using the web are shifting away from music and going more towards video.
In any case, yes, NextStage does have quite a bit of data dealing with this subject. I emailed that reader that I would write an IMedia column on the subject (Feb-March '07 timeframe) and will answer what I can in upcoming posts here.
